SARA ABU AL WAFA TARIQI (KAFD, 2023)

Jordanian Sara Abu Al-Wafa, representing the Middle East, participated in the coronation ceremony of King Charles, which was held on Saturday in Westminster, London, at the invitation of the Prince’s Trust International foundation. Sara Abu Al-Wafa is a graduate of the “Tariqi” project, one of the projects of the King Abdullah II Development Fund, implemented by BDC.

ALA' ADARBEN JOB SEARCH CLUB, IRBID (ILO, 2022)

I suffered from stress and lack of confidence speaking in public. I'd seen myself as a manager but not a coach because socially leadership, communication, holding an audience... all these skills were difficult for me. However, participating in the job search club training was a significant self development and professional development opportunity. Now I am proud and confident to be able to position myself as a trainer and facilitator - I went on to train other members of the center and I am working on the technical methodology of the Job Search Center for Irbid in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth.

FARAH AL QA-IDA TANMYEH (AFD, 2022)

Farah Mohammad was born into a family of nine with her father as the singular breadwinner - a military retiree and now a taxi driver. Farah shared with BDC that since she did not complete her Tawjihi her job options felt limited. Farah initially joined the project concerned by her lack of work experience. Farah told us she was particularly inspired by the trainer's encouragement that "anyone can make has a footprint anywhere" - for the first six months Farah secured work in the product packing industry. As a result of her perseverance and diligence at work, she was promoted into a technical role. Farah's advice to other young job seekers - "do not give up on your goals, you can achieve no matter how circumstances change."
