Overview

STEP project aims to improve the employability of young graduates by creating a strong, demand-driven link between the labour market, universities, and youth. The project begins with a targeted market assessment, to identify current skills gaps, employer needs, and internship opportunities.

Based on the assessment findings, the project works with partner universities to update and refine Work-Ready Skills curricula. Learning outcomes are mapped in collaboration with employers and university leadership, and the revised curriculum is formally endorsed to ensure institutional ownership and long-term sustainability.

Capacity building is also provided to Career Guidance Centers (CGCs) to enhance their role in preparing and matching students with private-sector opportunities.

Selected participants then complete an online employability course, receive interview coaching, and are supported through the match-up and placement process.

Finally, STEP provides continuous on-site technical support to university CGCs to strengthen internship placement, monitoring, and evaluation mechanisms. Through this integrated approach, STEP enhances the readiness of graduates, improves university-industry collaboration, and contributes to a more responsive and inclusive labour-market ecosystem.
