Golden Sands Grocery Store is a story which commenced in a local community that awaits such individual projects that are of economic impact on the poor families where the story of change begins from this point.

In Al-Diseh district which is situated around 400 km away from Amman “AZEM” was present there and reached a family that lives in Al-Tweiseh village which is situated in Al-Qweirah province in the governorate of Aqaba, while the area is affiliated to Al-Diseh district which includes 5 areas, and whose population is estimated to be 2242 people.

Mashael Al-Zawaydeh is a university student who presented a business idea addressing the needs of the area and its residents in terms of food items and household supplies, so she decided to help herself and her family and to support her people of the area.

Mashael’s father describes the situation by saying that he experienced difficult circumstances during the Corona pandemic and significant burdens accumulated given that he spends on two students in university one of whom is a medical student and the second one specializes in finance and banking, let alone the other children who are in school. The situation was dire. He says that the grocery shop was the consequence of cooperation from “AZEM” project in response to our economic circumstance and to serve the residents, particularly since the women of the area refrain from buying due to prevalent customs in the village only from a shop or grocery store in which works a woman or girl, and this encouraged for the grocery store to be accessed by many families.

Mashael’s father emphasized that the grocery store offered two job opportunities for members of the family and contributed significantly to ensuring the security of the family given its financial income which defrays unforeseen expenses or providing food for the family.
