In order to ensure the comprehensive approach of the SANAD Program, the Business Development Center focuses on working with teachers and their educational curricula. In this regard, the Business Development Center manages the “ Know about Business” program in partnership with the International Labor Organization (ILO) as an implementing partner. This program provides training for vocational schools teachers on all components of the “ Know about Business” program in order for them to cascade their training knowledge to their students under the supervisions of BDC & ILO. Through this creative program students are introduced by their trained teachers to the world of business and to the opportunities and challenges of self-employment which contribute in creating the culture of entrepreneurship amongst students.
The participating beneficiaries of KAB are young women and men enrolled in schools, training institutions and higher education institutions. Know About Business Program aims to strengthen the capacities of governments and tripartite constituents in providing entrepreneurship education to reduce youth unemployment.
Since the launch of the project, in 2012, we have trained 96 vocational teachers and community college instructors, whom have, in turn, trained over 5,000 students at vocational schools and community colleges on the entrepreneurial skills needed for them to start their own businesses.
