Gender sensitization is crucial to improving women’s role in the Jordanian labor market, specifically for private sector companies as contributors to Jordan economic development and key employers of the Jordanian workforce. KVINFO and BDC are collaborating together to work with influential companies in Jordan’s private sector to improve their internal HR policies towards becoming more women-friendly, specifically focusing on recruitment, retention and providing accommodating workplace policies while advancing women’s role towards seniority and leadership. The Gender Sensitization Project is engaging 10 Leading Jordanian Enterprises from a variety of sectors including Zain, Umniah, BioLab, Pharmacy 1, Grand Hyatt, KADDB, Zara Investment Holding Company, Arab Center for Engineering Studies, Petra Trading and Investment Co., Jordan Ahli Bank and Hikma.
· Gender Diversity Workshop
An intensive 2-day workshop that introduces Human Resources Managers to the core concepts for gender equality, diversity and inclusion of women in the workplace, raising awareness and bettering the environment.
· Study Tour to Denmark
HR Managers went to Denmark to observe and engage with different approaches and practices of women-friendly HR policies and their effectiveness on the productivity and profitability of the organization
· Inclusion Nudging Workshop
15 HR and General Managers joined an Inclusion Nudging Workshop which delivered a series of HR nudges to be incorporated into the workplace. A webinar followed after 2 months found that the participating HR departments are changing their recruitment practices and taking measures to use the nudges activities to transfer their knowledge to other departments.
· Gender Consultation with Selected Companies
The project is providing a gender audit and coaching sessions to 2-3 companies, giving feasible gender inclusion recommendations that will positively impact the companies’ employment practices and advance their HR Strategy.
